Chair based exercise classes are designed for people who require gentle exercise. Chair based is suitable for the older adult and the disabled. Chair based exercise is designed to improve fitness, muscle and joint strength, flexibility and balance. Balance and strength are of particular importance to the older adult. Poor balance increases the occurrence of falls. Poor muscle and joint strength leads to breaks during a fall. By working on both of these areas, the occurrence of falls and the damage resulting from them can be greatly reduced. Chair based exercise can be a fun and effective way to lose weight and improve fitness, whilst enhancing your mood, well-being and confidence. It’s also a great way to increase mobility around your joints, muscular strength and flexibility, as well as posture.
